Anatomy

Anatomy & Physiology I (CS200)

Deadline: March 19, 2012

Become well versed in medical terminology, understand the key structures and functions of the human body, and gain a thorough comprehension of how the body responds to injury and disease. This course, usually only offered as part of the PCP Program, is being offered on a stand-alone basis to P1 and EMAII Certificate holders (or equivalent) that wish to obtain the prerequisites for Diploma in Health Sciences (EMS) courses.

Pharmacology

 Pharmacology (PHARM215)

Date: May 7 - August 10, 2012 on-line
Deadline: April 16, 2012

This course builds a comprehensive understanding of the principle of pharmacology, the characteristics and use of drugs, drug interactions, and common medication profiles. Prerequisites: CS200 Anatomy & Physiology & Biology 11 ‘C+’ grade. Earn credit towards the Diploma in Health Sciences (EMS). Prerequisite for the ACP Program.

Pathophysiology (PATH214)

This introductory pathophysiology course focuses on the study of homeostasis and how it is altered by physical, biochemical, microbial or genetic factors. The course includes etiology, pathogenesis, growth and developmental variations, clinical manifestations, complications, diagnosis and treatment of selected health challenges. Prerequisites: CS200 Anatomy & Physiology & Biology 11 ‘C+’ grade. Earn credit towards the Diploma in Health Sciences (EMS). Prerequisite for the ACP Program.
