Dr. Donald B. Rix Public Safety Simulation Building

Opened in 2008, the Dr. Donald B. Rix Public Safety Simulation Building at the JIBC New Westminster campus houses state of the art technology to deliver immersive, interactive scenario-based training exercises anytime, anywhere.

JIBC has worked with various government agencies and private industry to produce scenarios of catastrophic events and critical incidents to be used in the Dr. Donald B. Rix Public Safety Simulation Building.  Scenarios were developed to:

  • improve process
  • prevent a re-occurrence of events
  • plan a response
  • provide training

Introduced by JIBC, award winning ExPod is the web-based virtual simulation learning tool in the Dr. Donald B. Rix Public Safety Simulation Building  that can be used to enhance any training or exercise program.
