Program Areas
The Corrections & Community Justice Division (CCJD) offers the following programs to students:
- Aboriginal Justice
We offer COR902: Justice Issues in Aboriginal Communities, either in person or online.
- Adult Correctional Officer
CCJD delivers preparatory courses which will be helpful in acquiring the knowledge to assist you in the hiring process as an Adult Correctional Officer.
- Adult Probation Officer
Our prerequisite courses help prepare you to apply for employment as an Adult Probation Officer.
- Family Justice
Courses in the area of family justice help those interested in becoming a Family Justice Counsellor or private family mediator.
- Family Mediation
The Family Mediation certificate is a joint offering of CCJD and the Centre for Conflict Resolution.
- Frontline Leadership
Our Frontline Leadership Program is ideal for individuals in supervisory positions in justice or public safety.
- Sex Offender Awareness
CCJD's sex offender awareness training is
designed for professionals conducting risk assessments with sexual offenders.
- Youth Probation Officer
Our Youth Probation Officer training includes three prerequisite courses necessary to apply for a position in this field.
- Youth Supervisor
Youth Supervisor training is
available only to those individuals who have a conditional offer of employment from a youth custody centre.
