Course Prerequisites:

Students should already be or studying to become a health professional and should be familiar with basic dysrhythmia interpretation. This 1 day course is designed to prepare students not currently involved in cardiac arrest management for taking the ACLS course.

Transfers and withdrawals from this program requires 14 days (2 weeks) notice prior to course date and an administrative fee of $50.00. Textbook fees (if ordered additionally) are non-refundable.

Course Description

This ACLS preparatory course is designed to help healthcare professionals develop confidence in cardiac arrest situations. The course is a combination of lectures and small group practice sessions. It covers the pharmacology of cardiac arrest drugs, lethal dysrhythmia interpretation, compromised airway management, and cardiac arrest practice scenarios. This course is the practical foundation for the ACLS Provider course.

Healthcare professional with some basic experience with cardiac arrest situations and a basic understanding of dysrhythmia interpretation. (Students who do not meet this prerequisite may attend PHP 101, Dysrhythmia Interpretation.)
