Students who withdraw prior to class start will be refunded 100% of tuition and the Learning Services Fee (LSF) minus a $50 administration fee.

Students who withdraw before the class is 50% complete will be refunded 50% of tuition and LSF minus a $50 administration fee. Transfer and withdrawal from this course after the course start date requires written notification, approval from the program coordinator

Students who withdraw after the class is 50% complete will receive no refund.

Application fees and program deposits are non-refundable.


Course Description

Learners will be introduced to the role and responsibilities of the fire investigator, examine legislative framework, legal and regulatory requirements and applicable standards. Learners will examine the basic methodology of fire investigations, fundamentals of fire science, fire scene safety and security, burn pattern analysis, evidence collection, documentation of the investigation and fire cause determination. This course is Part One of a three-part course designed to meet NFPA 1033 Professional Qualifications for Fire Investigator.
