Course Description
Acquire a high level overview of the purpose and benefits of business continuity in the health sector. Learners will gain an understanding of the steps involved in developing a health business continuity plan, including the importance of communicating and exercising a health business continuity plan.
This course is designed for those who are new to the field of health business continuity and are seeking an introduction. It is particularly beneficial to individuals who are seeking to introduce business continuity within their health organization.
Course Goal
The purpose of this course is to provide health care personnel with an overview of business continuity as it relates to the health sector.

Course Format
This 7 hour course is available through classroom-based learning, featuring group activities.
Classroom-based learning is only available to health organizations/agencies by contract. The costs associated with this method of delivery include instructor and manual fees. Training location and equipment requirements are the responsibility of the requesting organization.
All materials and text books will be provided in class and no special equipment is required. Please note that all Emergency Management Division courses require 100% attendance.
Important Information
Orientation to Health Business Continuity is a non-credit course, however is eligible for health professional continuing education credits, e.g., continuing competence requirements for Nurses
