Course Prerequisites:

The required textbook for Pharmacology 215 is Lippincott's Illustrated Reviews: Pharmacology, 4th Edition. Harvey, Champe, Howland and Mycek, Ed. (2008). Students are responsible for purchasing the textbook for the course. It is available from the JIBC Bookstore, 604-528-5870, jistore@jibc.ca.

Students who withdraw five days or more prior to class start will be refunded 100% of tuition and the Learner Service Fee (LSF) minus a $50 administration fee.
Students who withdraw after 5 days prior to class start date up to the first 2 weeks of classes will be refunded 50% of tuition and the LSF minus a $50 administration fee.
Students who withdraw after the first two weeks of classes up to the seventh week of classes will be refunded 25% of tuition and LSF minus a $50 administration fee.
There are no course refunds after the seventh week of classes.
Application fees and program deposits are non-refundable.


Course Description

Pharmacology 215 is a 3-credit course designed to allow health care professionals to build a comprehensive understanding of the principles of pharmacology, the characteristics and use of drugs, drug interactions, and common medication profiles. Pharmacology 215 is offered as a continuing education course for paramedics, and covers all required competencies for pharmacology for both Primary Care Paramedics and Advanced Care Paramedics as specified in the National Occupational Competency Profile
