Abstracts submissions for presentations at the 4th Annual Symposium of the Canadian Risk and Hazards Network is now closed. The conference organizers wish to thank you for your submissions. Abstracts will be reviewed by the Symposium’s Program Committee.

The symposium organizers especially welcome abstracts from emergency planners and other professionals, as well as academics and researchers. We particularly encourage presentations that demonstrate and/or discuss research-practice partnerships.
- Oral Presentations, Organized Sessions, or Posters :
- contact information for the presenting author and any co-authors
- a biographical sketch for the presenting author (50 word max.)
- conference sub-themes related to the abstract (up to 3)
- type of presentation (oral presentation, poster, or organized session)
- presentation title
- abstract (250 word max.)
- audiovisual requirements
- other special requirements
Oral presentations will be approximately 20 minutes in length. Accepted abstracts for oral presentations will be grouped by the Program Committee into sessions according to conference sub-themes.
Abstracts may be submitted as part of an Organized Session. Organized sessions will be approximately 90 minutes in length. They should involve 3~4 individuals who will each make a formal presentation related to a common topic or sub-theme. Abstracts for each of the presentations should be submitted with the online form for presentations. In addition, the form will require information on the session organizer, title, and other presenters.
- Panels: Should involve 3~4 panel members who will discuss a specified topic, but not present separate formal papers. For example, panelists may take turns addressing a series of questions posed by the moderator. Panels will be approximately 90 minutes in length. Panel organizers should include the following information:
- contact information for the panel organizer, moderator, and panelists
- biographical sketches for the panelists and moderator (50 word max.)
- conference sub-themes related to the panel
- panel title
- abstract (500 word max.) including, for example, discussion questions
- audiovisual requirements
- other special requirements
