AGGRESSION IN PLAY THERAPY: A NEUROBIOLOGICAL APPROACH

JIBC - New Westminster
November 1, 2018 - November 2, 2018 7:00 am- 5:00 pm

This energizing 2-day course is designed to help therapists understand aggressive play from a neuro-biological perspective. With the help of neuroscience, interpersonal neurobiology, and a Synergetic Play Therapy framework you will explore how to effectively work with play therapy in a way that supports nervous system regulation and reorganization of the child’s lower centers of the brain. By the end of this course, you will be able to identify various nervous system states in your child clients, understand how to support regulation in the playroom, and how to work with intense play without causing your own nervous system to shut down leading to compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma.
