Fentanyl Workshop for First Responders (Kelowna)

The Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC) is hosting two-day fentanyl workshops for first responders throughout the province of BC in May 2017:

These workshops are free to attend thanks to the generous support of the Police Services Division within the Ministry of Public Safety & Solicitor General and the Civil Forfeiture Office of BC.

Day 1 is open to ALL first responders

Topics covered include:

  • What Fentanyl is and how to identify it
  • Fentanyl handling guidelines and use of PPE
  • Identification of Fentanyl labs and safe response
  • First Responder case study

Day 2 is restricted to law enforcement and related public safety investigators

Topics covered include:

  • Trends in Fentanyl trafficking
  • Fentanyl, its analogues and emerging opiods
  • Undercover operations, clandestine lab and tableting investigations
  • Fentanyl prosecution strategies

All External Agencies: Please provide: 1) Attendee Name; 2) Attendee Email Address; 3) Workshop Location and send the information via email to Sgt. Kelly Joiner (APD), Manager of Advanced Training Programs, JIBC Police Academy.
