Bibliography of Native North Americans   Permissions
Native North American Literature can be found in a bibliographic database called Bibliography of Native North Americans. This database covers all aspects of native North American culture, history and life, including archaeology, multicultural relations, gaming, governance, legend and literacy and contains more than 100,000 citations for books, essays, journal articles, and government documents of the United States and Canada. Dates of coverage range from the sixteenth century to the present.

BioMed Central publishes 237 peer-reviewed open access journals.  Topics include all areas of biology and medicine.

Biomedical Reference Collection  Permissions

British Columbia Building Code  Permissions
Close out of your browser completely to switch between the Building Code and Fire Code.
Provides full text access to the 2012 BC Building Code.  The code sets out technical provisions for the design and construction of new buildings. It also applies to the alteration, change of use and demolition of existing buildings.

British Columbia Fire Code  Permissions

Provides full text access to the 2012 BC Fire Code. The Code sets out technical provisions regulating: activities related to the construction, use or demolition of buildings & facilities. Canadian Newsstand   Permissions  
Provides full text to columns, articles, editorials and features published by several national major dailies including: National Post, Calgary Herald, Edmonton Journal, Montreal Gazette, Ottawa Citizen, Regina Leader Post, Vancouver Sun, and the Victoria Times Colonist. Also includes access to selected regional major papers and weeklies from Canadian Newsstand Pacific (British Columbia and the Yukon).

Canadian Research Index   Permissions   
A clearinghouse for Canadian research and report literature in all fields. English and French publications from federal, provincial, and municipal government agencies and departments. Includes research, scientific, technical and annual reports, policy papers and statistical materials. Citations and abstracts only.

CBC Curio  Permissions
CBC Curio provides instructors and students with streaming access to the best in educational content from CBC and Radio-Canada. Includes documentaries from television and radio, news reports, archival material, stock shots and the specialized News in Review Channel.

CBCA Business   Permissions    
CBCA Business provides in-depth access to a broad range of Canadian business periodicals. Over 400 journals, many in fulltext, make up the collection with file depth back to the early 1980's. Included are trade journals, general business publications, academic journals, topical journals, and professional publications.

CBCA Education   Permissions   
CBCA Fulltext Education covers monographs and journal articles from over 150 Canadian education journals, many in fulltext. In addition, it includes Canadian federal and provincial government research reports, monographs from educational research communities across Canada, provincial curriculum guides, graduate dissertations and theses in education.

CBCA Reference and Current Events   Permissions 
CBCA Reference and Current Events provides in-depth access to a wide diversity of Canadian periodicals, ranging from academic titles to special interest publications to general magazines. The academic titles include the most prominent journals from the social sciences, humanities, and sciences. Other magazines focus on opinion, public policy, children/youth, lifestyles, arts and culture, health, regional concerns, etc. .

Child Welfare Information Gateway  OPEN ACCESS

Formerly the National Clearinghouse on Child Abuse and Neglect Information and the National Adoption Information Clearinghouse, Child Welfare Information Gateway provides access to information and resources to help protect children and strengthen families. This site provides access to print and electronic publications, websites, and online databases covering a wide range of topics from prevention to permanency, including child welfare, child abuse and neglect, adoption, search and reunion, and much more.

CINAHL Complete   Permissions  
Covers all aspects of nursing, allied health (including paramedic and pre-hospital care), consumer health, patient education information, and more. Provides access to more than 1,300 full text journals from the fields of nursing and allied health.CINAHL Complete also includes indexing for more than 5,000 journals, searchable cited references for more than 1,460 journals, full text dating back to 1937, and more than 4 million records in total.

Criminal Justice (CJPI)   Permissions  
Indexes 150 journals covering a broad range of criminal justice issues. 44 of these journals are full text (the entire article online).

Criminal Justice Abstracts with Full Text (CJA)   Permissions
Criminal Justice Abstracts with Full Text is the full-text counterpart of Criminal Justice Abstracts. This resource includes bibliographic records and full text covering essential areas related to criminal justice and criminology. Criminal Justice and Public Safety in Video   
From Alexander Street Press.  Includes hundreds of hours of video for professionals and students in criminal justice and public safety. DOAJ - Directory of Open Access Journals  OPEN ACCESS

Provides access to free, full text, quality controlled scientific and scholarly journals, covering all subjects. There are over 2600 journals in this directory of which over 750 journals are searchable at the article level.

Dynamed    Permissions
A clinical reference tool created by physicians for physicians and other health care professionals for use at the point-of-care. With clinically -organized summaries for more than 3,200 topics. Updated daily, DynaMed editors monitor the content of over 500 medical journals on a daily basis. Each article is evaluated for clinical relevance and scientific validity. The new evidence is then integrated with existing content, and overall conclusions are changed as appropriate, representing a synthesis of the best available evidence. [EBSCO]

EBMR: Evidence Based Medicine Reviews   Permissions 
Evidence-based medicine is a movement in health care that encourages physicians, nurses, pharmacists and allied health professionals to seek out, appraise and apply the best evidence from the medial literature when confronted with patient treatment decisions. The EBMR database provides systematic reviews of topics, article reviews and access to definitive controlled trials. Contains 4 sources: ACP Journal Club, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, and Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects (DARE).
NOTE: All Cochrane Systematic Reviews published from February 2013 will be available open access 12 months after publication in The Cochrane Library.

An online version of one of the World's most comprehensive reference sources. The First Nations Periodical Index is a joint project of the Saskatchewan Indian Federated College, Saskatoon Campus, the Saskatchewan Indian Cultural Centre and the Library Services for Saskatchewan Aboriginal Peoples committee. The National Film Board (NFB) site provides access to an online collection of over 2,500 Canadian films, including, documentaries, animations, and alternative dramas which can be shown in the classroom.  The JIBC Library’s educational license with NFB provides access to additional CAMPUS titles. Subject areas (Channels) covered include: Aboriginal Peoples, Classics, Crime and Legal, Current Affairs, Education, History, Worlds and many more.

Social Science Research Network (SSRN) is devoted to the rapid worldwide dissemination of social science research and is composed of a number of specialized research networks in each of the social sciences. The SSRN eLibrary consists of two parts: an Abstract Database containing abstracts on over 228,900 scholarly working papers and forthcoming papers and an Electronic Paper Collection currently containing over 187,500 downloadable full text documents in Adobe Acrobat pdf format. Statistics Canada  OPEN ACCESS

Statistics Canada collects, compiles, analyses, abstracts and publishes statistical information relating to the commercial, industrial, financial, social, economic and general activities and conditions of the people of Canada.  An easy way to locate statistics is to use the CANSIM database.  Updated daily, CANSIM is Statistics Canada's key socioeconomic database.  Additionaly, the Cenus provides statistics complied from Canada's 2011 census.  There are also the Summary Tables for an overview of statistical information, by province or territory, or by metropolitan area.

STAT!Ref is an online cross-searchable, healthcare reference that integrates core medical textbooks with evidence-based resources and innovative tools. The U.S. Fire Administration’s Library provides information and resources on fire, emergency management and other all-hazards subjects. With our collection of more than 208,000 books, reports, audiovisual materials and indexed articles, the Library supports National Emergency Training Center (NETC) student and faculty research, classroom lectures, and development of course materials.
