The B.C. Safe School Centre is a central source of information, resources and help for youth, parents, educators, police and others in the support and development of safe school and safe community environments. Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence (CSPV)
CSPV provides informed assistance to groups committed to understanding and preventing violence, particularly adolescent violence. Site links to an Information House offering database collections of research literature and resources. Also links to Technical Assistance, Blueprints (for violence prevention programs), Research, and Connections (which offers an extensive list of related links on the Internet).

Family Law in British Columbia
Provides information on abuse, adoption, child protection/removal, common-law relationships, guardianship, parenting arrangements, divorce, and child/spousal support.

Family Service Canada
A not-for-profit, national voluntary organization representing the concerns of families and family serving agencies across Canada. Membership includes family service agencies, corporations, government agencies and interested individuals. Provides access to free online resources.

Foster Parent Community
Wide variety of links related to Foster Parent needs, includes a Live Foster Care Chat, Message Board, US Association Directory, Email Listserv and many articles, resources and other links. The Articles link contains a huge list of articles, many annotated and compiled by subject.

JusticeBC
Provides general information about family law in British Columbia. Includes information for people considering changes in their family relationships such as separation and divorce, and may be of interest to people thinking of marrying or living with someone in a marriage-like relationship.

Children's Institute International
A Los Angeles non-profit organization offering programs, services, and training related to domestic violence and child abuse.

Canadian Society for the Investigation of Child Abuse 
The CSICA is a non-profit Society whose activities include training child sexual abuse investigators and responding to the needs of abused children, particularly in the area of child witness court preparation.

Child Abuse Prevention Network
An online information network for professionals working with abused and neglected children. A good site for information and resources.

Child Welfare Information Gateway
Formerly the National Clearinghouse on Child Abuse and Neglect Information and the National Adoption Information Clearinghouse, Child Welfare Information Gateway provides access to information and resources to help protect children and strengthen families. A service of the Children's Bureau, Administration for Children and Families, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

IPT: Institute for Psychological Therapies
IPT's primary work is related to, but not limited to, allegations of child abuse. IPT provides direct access to articles from their journal "Issues in Child Abuse Accusations".

National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome
This site has been designed to be helpful to professionals and parents looking for information, ideas and answers to questions about shaken baby syndrome, a tragic form of child abuse.

National Data Archive on Child Abuse and Neglect
The NDACAN strives to facilitate the secondary analysis of research data relevant to the study of child abuse and neglect. The Archive seeks to provide a relatively inexpensive and scientifically productive means for researchers to explore important issues in the child maltreatment field.

Battered Women's Support Services
Free support services offered to women who are or have been abused in their adult relationships.

B.C. / Yukon Society of Transition Houses
This non-profit association provides information and support to battered women and their children. Site includes links to Job Postings, Training Programs, the Art Project, Library and other resources; as well as background information about the association.

Family Violence: It’s Your Business (A Workplace Toolkit)
This toolkit is intended to provide employers, unions and employees with information and resources for recognizing and responding to family violence situations that enter the workplace.

Institute on Violence, Abuse and Trauma
The IVAT is an important International resource, research and training center that includes all areas of violence, abuse and trauma. The Institute encompasses multiple centers, which focus on Family Violence in the broad sense, Sexual Assault, Youth and School Violence, Workplace Violence, Violence Prevention, and Traumatic Stress.

Minnesota Center Against Violence and Abuse
Provides research, education, and access to violence related resources.

National Clearinghouse on Family Violence 
A useful site that includes a library resource collection, video collection, listing of publications, FAQs, news, information, and links to related sites of interest.

Violence Prevention
From the American Psychological Association, this site is a good way to get quick, accurate, factual information about family violence and risk factors.

Caring for Kids
Developed by Canadian Paediatric Society to provide parents with information about their child’s health and well-being. Includes information on health, behaviour and development and keeping kids safe.

Parenting Today
Created by Kathy Lynn who is considered to be Canada's leading advocate for children, parents and families, and the most recognized parenting educator in the country. Check out the Resources section for Parenting Tips and for links to other informative sites.
