Flags at half-mast to honour Arizona firefighters

Flags are flying at half-mast this week to honour 19 firefighters killed in the line of duty

Justice Institute of British Columbia is flying flags at half-mast this week to remember the 19 firefighters from Prescott, Arizona who perished on June 30 while battling a wildfire.

“Instructors, staff and alumni of JIBC feel this loss deeply”, said JIBC President Dr. Michel Tarko. “We send our condolences to the families and friends of the firefighters from Prescott. We join firefighters and other first responders from across North America in mourning their loss and remembering their bravery. This tragedy is a harsh reminder of the danger inherent in public safety careers.”

JIBC offers a comprehensive range of education and training to meet the needs of BC fire and rescue services.
