JIBC flags at half-staff for volunteer fire fighter Daniel Botkin; funeral January 5

Mayor Howie Cyr and the Enderby & District Volunteer Fire Department Fire Chief, Kevin Alstad, announced that a Line of Duty service for volunteer firefighter Captain Daniel Botkin will be held at the Enderby Memorial Arena on Thursday, January 5, at 11:00 a.m.
A parade of emergency services vehicles and personnel will muster at the Enderby & District Chamber of Commerce at 700 Railway Street at 10:00 a.m. and proceed down Belvidere Street to the Enderby Memorial Arena at 10:30 a.m.
Further information on the service and muster will be announced daily, including maps and timeframes. Event details will be posted to www.fcabc.ca.
JIBC flags have been lowered to half-staff to mourn the passing of Daniel Botkin, a volunteer fire fighter in the North Okanagan city of Enderby. He died on December 29, 2011 while battling a blaze in Enderby.
A portion of Daniel's training was with JIBC.
