Honouring the loss of a West Vancouver Police Officer
Flags at half-mast for Constable Louis Beglaw
JIBC flags have been lowered to half-mast today to honour the life of Constable Louis Reinhold Beglaw, Class 98, who graduated from the Police Academy July 16, 2004.
Constable Beglaw passed away at work on Monday, September 16, 2013 at the West Vancouver Police Department where he had been employed as a Police Service Dog Handler.
Constable Beglaw had been with the West Vancouver Police Department since November 2003 and was known throughout the policing community in the Lower Mainland as a Police Service Dog Handler after successfully completing his PSD training on May 4, 2007 with police dog Capone.
He was also an officer in the Canadian Army Reserve and served as the Deputy Commanding Officer of the Royal Westminster Regiment.
Constable Beglaw leaves behind his wife Sarah and their two young children.
The West Vancouver Police Department will communicate service arrangements as they are made.
