JIBC partners with Ellucian to update its information systems

JIBC chooses Colleague® ERP for its new student, finance and human resource information systems

To provide its approximately 27,000 students with a more integrated user experience, enhance organizational effectiveness, and improve accountability, Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC) is partnering with Ellucian to deploy Colleague® as its new ERP system.

“Our decision to replace the current systems with Colleague® was driven by our need to have a seamless, more flexible offering that better meets the very diverse demands of our current and future learner communities,” said Peter Kingston, Vice President, Finance and Administration at JIBC. “It also improves our access to and use of data, which is a critical step toward meeting accountability goals established by the Provincial Government.”

As a fully integrated and versatile student, finance and human resources information management system, Colleague® by Ellucian allows JIBC to foster collaboration among students, faculty, and staff through the use of the Ellucian Portal®. The Colleague® integrated system will provide JIBC with easy and secure access to information and the ability to manage institutional performance, which is a key priority for the Institute.

Through the Ellucian partnership, JIBC is joining a provincial higher education Colleague® consortium of eight other British Columbia post-secondary schools. Involvement in the consortium empowers JIBC to tap into the knowledge base of consortium members using Colleague® within British Columbia, while also providing them with shared costs opportunities.

“In offering a range of programs, from bachelor’s degrees to training certifications, Justice Institute of British Columbia needed a solution that matches the educational flexibility that has established it as Canada’s leading public safety educator,” said Paul Cunningham, Senior Vice President of North America Customer Relationships at Ellucian. “Colleague® by Ellucian helps JIBC successfully respond to the needs of its diverse learners while also preparing for improved data-based decision making.”
