JIBC provides international training for recruits from Jiangsu Police Institute
Third delegation of students and faculty from JPI gain valuable insights about the latest best practices in Canadian law enforcement
Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC) recently welcomed its third delegation of recruits and instructors from the Jiangsu Police Institute (JPI) and provided a wide-ranging introduction to Canadian law enforcement best practices and procedures.
The delegation included 24 JPI police recruits and three visiting scholars studying at the New Westminster Campus. In addition to visiting local police stations in Vancouver and New Westminster, they learned about various law enforcement subjects including community policing and economic crime; investigations and police cooperation; incident command systems, and anti-terrorism.
Their education was provided by active and experienced professionals from various Lower Mainland law enforcement agencies including lectures from leaders of B.C. municipal police departments.
“We are pleased to welcome our third delegation of police recruits and instructors from Jiangsu Police Institute,” said Ken Davies, Manager of International Programs in JIBC’s Office of International Affairs. “We value the growing trust we have developed with Jiangsu Police Institute and many other police colleges in China to support the transformation of law enforcement education in China.”
