All the Justice Institute of BC's paramedic programs are based on the National Occupational Competency Profile for Paramedics, and include additional workplace competencies that prepare you for a wide range of roles in the prehospital setting.
The Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)
certification course is an entry-level medical responder course that will prepare individuals for employment in a variety of pre-hospital, industrial and first responder settings. The EMR course is designed to provide participants with the basic knowledge and skills to be able to manage any medical and trauma related emergency.
The Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) Program
is designed as an entry-level program for individuals interested in a career in paramedicine. The PCP program is designed to give participants the skills and knowledge to perform an organized patient assessment, intervene in life-threatening injuries and conditions, perform PCP treatments, procedures and protocols, and record and report patient information.
The Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) Program
is an advanced level training program that builds on the skills developed as a Primary Care Paramedic. The ACP program is designed to give participants the skills and knowledge to perform an organized patient assessment, intervene in life-threatening injuries and conditions, perform ACP treatments, procedures and protocols, and record and report patient information.
