Fees

Once a year, post secondary institutions in British Columbia are permitted to raise tuition fees by 2%. To obtain information about current fees for programs and courses, students and applicants are encouraged to contact program areas, to check the appropriate website or to call the Registration Office during regular business hours:

 604.528.5590 or 1.877.528.5591 (toll free).

Information about fees can also be obtained by emailing the Registration Office.

Fees vary, depending on the program or the particular course. Generally, program fees cover the cost of:

  • tuition
  • library services
  • student service
  • educational technology

There are some additional fees in programs with special teaching materials or venues.

In addition to a program or course fees, students can expect to pay for:

  • books and materials
  • in some programs, a uniform or specialized equipment or clothing

Other Fees (where applicable)

  • Application fee (usually $75 but higher in some programs)
  • Commitment fee - a non-refundable, non-transferable fee that reserves the student’s seat in the program. If the commitment fee is not paid when the student is given acceptance, the seat in the program may be forfeited
  • Withdrawal or transfer fee, when that transfer is at the student’s request. Fees for some on-line courses are non-refundable
  • Transcript fee. Program graduates are provided with one copy of their official transcript for free; additional copies are available for a nominal charge
  • Prior Learning Assessment and Transfer Credit fees. These charges vary by program area; applicants are encouraged to contact the program area to discuss the current charges for these services

Refunds

Registration fees are usually refundable provided the registration office receives notification of withdrawal within the guidelines set by the program area. Refunds are subject to an administrative fee (usually $50).  In programs that charge a commitment fee, that fee is forfeited.

Each program has a specific refund schedule for students who withdraw after the enrollment deadline. Check the program website for current information regarding withdrawal and transfer procedures and charges.
