About EMD

As part of the JIBC School of Public Safety and Security, the Emergency Management Division has been educating public safety leaders in Canada and internationally for more than 20 years. From preparation and mitigation through to response and recovery, the Emergency Management Division provides comprehensive and innovative academic programs and applied training and services.

Academic and Professional Programs

The Emergency Management Division offers a complete range of applied and degree-path programs to prepare students for professional, specialist and leadership positions in the fields of emergency management, public safety, exercise design, security and business continuity. You can choose from degree, diploma or certificate programs, available in-class or online.

In 2010, we launched Canada’s first online Bachelor of Emergency and Security Management Studies with a diploma exit option. Both the Diploma and Degree are unique in preparing students for leadership positions in both emergency management and security.
