About Us
The Fire & Safety Division (FSD) offers a comprehensive range of education and training designed to meet the needs and challenges of the BC fire and rescue service, other public and private sector organizations and a growing international market.
Our comprehensive range of courses, from basic and advanced firefighter training to specialized fire officer education, blends the experience and skills of fire services personnel from across the province with the educational expertise of division staff.
Our education and training programs are available in a traditional classroom setting at our campuses, as well as other local and regional locations around the province, or through e-learning. The learning experience is further enhanced by an impressive range of facilities, training props and resources and a learner-centered curriculum. Each year FSD trains over 10,000 firefighters from across BC, Canada and the World.
Many of our courses are accredited by both the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) and the National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualification (ProBoard) and we offer Canada’s only Bachelor of Fire & Safety Studies Degree.
