Gaming Security Officer Training
The casino industry in British Columbia has experienced explosive growth. Casinos and Community Gaming Centres across the province require qualified individuals to fill full-time and part-time security positions.
JIBC and the British Columbia Lottery Corporation have developed a Gaming Security Officer Certification Program that you must successfully complete in order to qualify for employment in casinos and other gaming facilities.![]()
The JIBC under Agreement with BCLC administers the Gaming Security Program. Gaming security officers in BC are required to successfully complete a 5 day online course and final written examination.
Program Outline
As a Gaming Security Officer, you will play a key role in maintaining gaming integrity, ensuring the comfort and safety of customers and co-workers, protecting the assets of the facility, managing access and investigating unusual activities and incidents.

• Authorities and Powers Under the Law
Gaming Facility Protection
• Irregularities in Casino Play and Protection of Facilities
• Loan Sharking and Suspicious Activity
Basic Investigative Skills
• Conducting Interviews and Taking Statements
• Securing and Protecting Evidence
• Testifying in Court

Course Completion
Students must achieve a minimum of 75% for successful completion. Successful students will receive their Certificate of Training Completion via mail.
Once you have successfully completed the online course and final written exam, you will receive a Certificate of Completion for the Gaming Security Officer Program. You will be able to seek employment in a casino or gaming centre environment.
