Collision Avoidance Driving (Formerly Driving with Finesse)

Overview

This course combines in-class and hands-on driver training. The course enrolls five participants per class and gives each person ample time to practice new driving techniques and receive feedback from the instructor, other participants, and the on-board computer analyst that registers the smoothness of braking, accelerating, and steering.

Participants practice strategies to prevent collisions and receive feedback about their personal strengths and weaknesses as drivers.

Who Should Take This Course

This course is available to organizations and the general pubic who are interested in improving their driving skills and safety.  It is mandatory for all students registered in the TaxiHost Program.

Learning Objectives

Participants practice strategies to prevent collisions and receive feedback about their personal strengths and weaknesses as drivers. 

This course helps drivers develop the key attitudes and road skills required to be a safe professional driver. A g-analyst computer is utilized to monitor precision braking, steering and acceleration.

Format (Learning Format/Structure)

7 hours

This course consists of a one hour classroom introduction, followed by hands-on practical training, driving with five students and an instructor.  A vehicle is provided by JIBC.

Students must successfully complete a final quiz at the end of the class.

$225.00 per participant

Course Requirements

Participants must present a valid BC Drivers License
