Bev Stenning Excellence in Emergency Management Memorial Award
In recognition of Bev Stenning’s outstanding contribution to service and leadership, the Capital Region Emergency Awareness Network (CREAN) has established the Bev Stenning Excellence in Emergency Management Memorial Award to support emergency management students at the Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC).
Bev's passion for teaching led her to the JIBC and Red Cross, often travelling across BC delivering workshops as an instructor. She has an incredible legacy in the field of Emergency Management and is an inspiration to all.
Annually, one award of $1,000 will be used for tuition and textbooks and credited to the recipient's JIBC student account. This award must be used within a one year time frame for the programs stated above, and unexpended award amounts will be returned to the fund.
- Student must be enrolled and in good standing in the Emergency Management Certificate or the Emergency and Security Management Diploma or Degree programs.
- Student must demonstrate financial need not met by other available sources of funding including student loans, grants, sponsorship, work income, etc.
- Preference will be given to students who demonstrate leadership in school and/or community activities, or volunteerism.

Students will be notified whether or not they have been selected 2-4 weeks after the application deadline. This notification will include information on how funds are disbursed.
Note: Failure to complete all sections of the application form may result in disqualification of your application. Any misrepresentation will result in a penalty which could include, but is not limited to, expulsion from your program, ineligibility to be considered for future awards and forfeit any outstanding awards.
