BC Transmission Corporation Legacy Award
The BC Transmission Corporation Legacy Award, funded by the BC Transmission Corporation (BCTC), is offered to provide financial support that will make a difference for students at the Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC). BCTC, established in 2003, was the Crown Corporation responsible for managing the province's publicly owned electrical transmission system. In July 2010, BCTC ceased operations as an independent Crown corporation and became integrated with BC Hydro as a single entity. This was an outcome of the BC government's Clean Energy Act.
Eligible applicants are those who have strong community involvement and volunteerism. Consideration will be given to those who can demonstrate how this award will benefit themselves and their community.
Two awards of $300 each will be available annually. One award per year will be reserved for a former BCTC employee.
