For ten years, the JIBC Foundation has honoured individuals and groups for their commitment to justice, public safety and community leadership. These awards recognize and acknowledge their contributions to the safety of families, communities and businesses across the province.

- Dr. Joseph H. Cohen Award - for significant contributions in the field of justice
- JIBC Foundation Heroes & Rescue Award - for courageous action in a time of crisis
- JIBC Foundation Community Leadership Award - for extraordinary leadership that demonstrates the value and spirit of community
The Awards Gala helps to ensure that JIBC is well positioned to maintain its international reputation for excellence in justice and public safety education, raising awareness and much needed funds, whether for student financial aid and awards, the purchase of paramedic or fire training equipment, the funding of critical applied research projects, or enhancing the library resources.
