JIBC Foundation Awards for Justice and Public Safety
The JIBC Foundation Board hosted the JIBC Foundation Awards for Justice and Public Safety on December 2, 2009 at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver.
Co-chaired by Foundation Board members Karen Baker-MacGrotty and Marvin Storrow, QC, the gala celebrated the contributions of a number of British Columbians to justice and public safety across the province. The sold-out event, hosted by Peter Legge, OBC, LLB (Hon) raised more than $110,000 that will be used to educate and train students in public safety and justice. View photos of the event.
A significant contribution of $20,000 by the BC Transmission Corporation (BCTC), silver sponsor for the gala, was announced at the event. The donation will support the Community Safety Scholarships program, which will make Advanced Incident Command System training more accessible. Read more about the JIBC-BCTC partnership.
