Course Details

This course builds on the material learned in CORR-1060. The learner will further their knowledge and skills of the roles and responsibilities of a probation officer by applying the concepts learned in CORR- 1060 Adult Probation Fundamentals Part 1, using scenarios and role-plays (related to probation officer work) and receiving peer and instructor feedback. The learner will observe and role-play the basic skills to perform core duties, including an initial intake on both bail and sentenced clients. The learner will also practice submitting breaches and applying for order variations. Attending court will be discussed and role played in this course. Focus will be placed on the application of skills needed to complete the most basic duties of a probation officer.
