Course Details

Lisa Dion, creator of Synergetic Play Therapy, is coming to the JIBC to teach this two day course designed to help play therapists understand therapeutic play from a neuro-biological perspective. With the help of neuroscience, interpersonal neurobiology, and a Synergetic Play Therapy framework, you will learn how to effectively work with therapeutic play in a way that supports nervous system regulation, reorganization of the child's lower centers of the brain, and promote healing for the child. The result is the transformation of trauma play into ways of connecting, healing, and mutual trust. Through role play, discussion, and experiential exercises, you will learn practical techniques that can be used right away in your playroom.

Lisa is an international teacher, clinical supervisor, author, Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapy Supervisor. Lisa is the founder of the Synergetic Play Therapy Institute and was awarded the Association for Play Therapy's 2015 Professional Training and Education Award of Excellence. Lisa is recognized for her outstanding professional education and training that significantly developed, promoted, and advanced the value of play, play therapy, and credentialed play therapists.
