About the Event
You are invited to an online observation of Canada’s National Day for Truth & Reconciliation with Elder Caroline Buckshot, Algonquin Nation & Lorelei Boyce, Secwepemc & Carrier Nations.
September 30 marks Canada’s National Day for Truth & Reconciliation. Since 2013, this annual day has been recognized across Canada as Orange Shirt Day. This commemorative day is for public awareness and education about the genocidal residential school system, the crimes against humanity that occurred in the state- and church-run institutions, and the intergenerational impacts it has had on Indigenous Peoples in Canada.
The Office of Indigenization invites you to join us in observation on September 29 at 10 a.m. Pacific Time.
