jIBC – learning that goes beyond

Since 1978, JIBC has been integral to public safety and justice in British Columbia by providing a wide range of specialized education and training to more than 300,000 students. Our impact includes:

  • Training paramedics, firefighters, municipal police officers, sheriffs, correctional and probation officers, emergency management professionals, and search-and-rescue personnel. We also provide training in areas including conflict resolution, counselling, leadership, and mediation.
  • Being the leading provider of medical responder and paramedic training in British Columbia. Each year more than 850 new responders and paramedics graduate from our Paramedic Academy programs prepared for careers in pre-hospital medicine and ambulance settings.
  • Helping communities in British Columbia and across Canada prepare for and respond to emergencies for over 30 years, through specialized emergency management education, resources and research.

Every day, JIBC graduates help British Columbians in times of need.
