Stephen Gamble, Maria Preovolos first elected in 2019
The Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC) is pleased to announce that its Board of Governors has re-elected Dr. Stephen Gamble and Maria Preovolos as Board Chair and Vice-Chair respectively.
First elected in 2019, Dr. Gamble currently serves as the fire chief for the Township of Langley. He is a past-president of both the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs and the Fire Chiefs Association of British Columbia. He joined the JIBC Board of Governors in December 2017.
Ms. Preovolos, also first elected last year, has served as a JIBC Governor since July 2018. She is associate general counsel at TELUS Communications and has extensive experience in Board governance.
“We are pleased to benefit from the continued leadership of Dr. Gamble and Ms. Preovolos as they return to their roles as Board Chair and Vice-Chair respectively,” said JIBC President and CEO Dr. Michel Tarko. “They, along with all of JIBC’s Governors, play a key role in keeping the Institute on course as we endeavour to fulfill the JIBC vision and mission. That included the initial planning direction and final approval they provided in the development of the recently-completed Strategic Plan 2020-2025. We are excited to be embarking on carrying out the priorities and objectives in the plan as we continue towards meeting the JIBC vision of safer communities and a more just society.”
