The Bernie Magnan Award was established in 2020 by The Justice Institute of British Columbia Foundation (The JIBC Foundation) in recognition of Bernie Magnan’s outstanding contributions and volunteer service as a board director of The JIBC Foundation between 2014 and 2020, including five years as Chair.
The award provides financial support for students enrolled in an eligible degree, diploma, or certificate program of 10 credits or more, who demonstrate involvement in school and / or community activities, especially volunteering.
Value
One award of $1,000 is available annually.
Eligibility Criteria
- Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or possess refugee status.
- Enrolled in an eligible degree, diploma, or certificate program of 10 credits or more.
- Students must demonstrate involvement in school and / or community activities, especially volunteering. Supported by a letter of reference.
