Dr. Don Jolley

Dr. Don Jolley is the retired Fire Chief for the City of Pitt Meadows. As vice-president of the Fire Chiefs Association of BC, he led development of the BC Structure Firefighter Training Standard. For many years, he has served as a sessional instructor and in advisory capacities with JIBC in the Fire & Safety (FSD) and Emergency Management (EMD) divisions and the Paramedic Academy.

Dr. Jolley’s experience includes many years as a BC Ambulance ACP paramedic and an emergency program manager and trainer in Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge. He served as a senior operational commander during the 2010 Olympic Winter Games and both the 2017 and 2018 provincial wildfire emergencies. He has operated Response Specialties Consulting since his retirement.

Dr. Jolley was awarded a Doctor of Laws, Honoris Causa from JIBC in 2019 and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Simon Fraser University, a Certificate in Local Government Administration from Capilano University and a Certificate in Emergency Management from JIBC. He holds professional designations as an Executive Chief Fire Officer and Chartered Manager.
