|How do I change my password?||
If you know your current password:
Log into the Portal at www.myjibc.ca. To change your pasword, look in the Self Service section in the right column for WebAdvisor for Students. Under User Account there should be a Change Password option:
|I can't remember my password - what do I do?||
If you have previously set up a pasword hint, try entering your User ID on the Show my Password hint page.
Remember that your password is at least 8 characters in length and contains at least one number, one uppercase letter and one lowercase letter. Punctuation symbols are permitted but not the space character.

|What if I don't have a Student User ID?||
JIBC has recently changed its Student Information System. All Student User ID's are now 8 characters long and start with a lowercase 'j' (e.g. j9999999).
All students who register from July 1, 2015 onward (or that were in a course that completed April 1, 2015 onward) will already have a new Student User ID.
For all other students, a new Student User ID will automatically be created whenever they register for a course using the new system.Read More...

If you don't know your number, visit the page What's my User ID and enter the required information. Your User ID will be shown to you on the screen.

|Who has access to JIBC's WebAdvisor Services?||
All students registered in JIBC programs/course(s) and all current employees.
Students can access their personal record but not the records of other students or instructors. Instructors can access information about their courses (e.g. class lists) but not courses taught by other instructors.Read More...

|Why are my classes not showing up?||
Your classes will only show up in the My Current Classes section of the myJIBC Portal from the start date of the course. Occassionally they will show up before the actual start date if there is reading that needs to be done prior to the start of the course.
Only online courses will be included, not classroom courses.

|How can I get a copy of my transcript?||
You can view and print your unofficial transcript using a quick link available in the myJIBC Portal.
Official transcripts are signed and sealed, and need to be ordered through the Registration Office by downloading the Official Student Transcript form.Read More...
|How do I register for a class?||
You look for classes and register using WebAdvisor, our course data tool. When you find a Course you want, and the Section date/time work for you, select the section and register.
If you've taken a JIBC course since April 1, 2015 you'll already have a User ID. Otherwise, you'll need to register for a User ID. This will be emailed to you, along with a password in a separate email.Read More...

|What is a prerequisite or corequisite?||
A prerequisite is a course which must be completed prior to another course. Students who have not completed the required prerequisites will encounter the following error message when attempting to register for a course online via WebAdvisor:

|What if I want to register for a course, but have not completed the required requisites?||
Students can request to register for a course without having completed the required requisites by completing the Requisite Waiver Request Form. Please note that the turnaround response time for Requisite Waiver Requests is 5 to 10 business days.Read More...
|How do I get a tuition tax receipt (T2202A)?||
The Tuition, Education and Textbook Amounts Certificate (T2202A) are made available online in late February each year. The Justice Institute of British Columbia does not mail T2202As to students. Follow the steps below to view your T2202A information or print your official receipt.

For most courses you must make a payment at the time of registration, but if you are admitted onto a Program you may regsiter for individual course and make payments t a later date.

Non-Canadian students pay international student tuition. If you're being charged the international fee in error, please doublecheck to ensure that you're not using AutoComplete in your browser, and have indicated "Canada" for your Citizenship Country.Read More...
|I tried to go to WebAdvisor but a box said the "maximum number of cookie values has been reached".||
If you see the message about the maximum number of cookie values, you'll need to clear your browser's cookies. The method for doing this depends on your browser, but usually you'll need to go to your history or internet options, choose to clear your browsing history or data, select cookies, and click delete or clear.

|What software or settings do I need for WebAdvisor?||
Since WebAdvisor is web-based, you'll need an internet connection and a web browser to access it. WebAdvisor is best viewed using Internet Explorer, but will also work with Firefox or Safari.
Note that you must have cookies enabled to use WebAdvisor, as a session cookie is placed on your computer while you're using it. The cookie is erased when you close your browser. You can enable cookies in your web browser.Read More...
