The Academic Calendar is your source for critical dates and information about JIBC courses and programs.
We try hard to ensure that the information on the JIBC Academic Calendar is accurate and up-to-date. However, we may need to make changes to the calendar at any time without notice.
That includes adding or cancelling classes and changing fees. If in doubt, check back here later.
Note
The withdrawal and refund deadlines listed below apply only to 3-credit courses that are 13-15 weeks in duration, including instruction and final exams. For other courses, check their appropriate program page for deadlines.
Jan 8 | Semester begins |
Jan 19 | Last day to withdraw from a course for 80% refund. Last day to drop a course without receiving a “W” on your transcript (subsequent withdrawals receive a grade of “W” and are not eligible for a refund). Last day to change from credit to audit status in a course. |
Feb 19 | Family Day - Institute closed |
Feb 20-23 | Mid-semester reading break |
Mar 1 | Last day to drop a course or completely withdraw from the Institute (students will receive a “W” on their transcript). After this date, a grade of “F” will be recorded. |
Mar 29 | Good Friday – Institute closed |
Apr 1 | Easter Monday – Institute closed |
Apr 19 | Last day of classes |
May 6 | Semester begins |
May 17 | Last day to withdraw from a course for 80% refund. Last day to drop a course without receiving a “W” on your transcript (subsequent withdrawals receive a grade of “W” and are not eligible for a refund). Last day to change from credit to audit status in a course. |
May 20 | Victoria Day – Institute closed |
