Course Details

This course provides an overview of the roles and responsibilities of a BC Corrections probation officer. The learner will acquire the basic skills to perform core duties, become familiar with BC Corrections policy and practice and understand the role of the probation officer within the criminal justice system. The focus is on learning the operational requirements needed to complete the basic duties, including conducting intake interviews, building client relationships, reviewing court orders, and navigating operating systems.
