|Fire Prevention Officer Certificate||Fire & Safety Division||Certificate||
The Fire Prevention Officer Certificate is designed for adult learners who want to pursue their education at their own pace. If you’re in the fire service and responsible for fire prevention, investigation and/or public education, this certificate will assist you in advancing your career. This certificate may also be of interest to individuals working in industries other than the fire service that could utilize a skilled Fire Prevention Officer. It meets the competencies and training standards established by the NFPA for fire prevention inspectors, investigators and public fire educators.
|Firefighter I & II Certification||Fire & Safety Division||Certificate||
This is the entry building block for all fire fighter disciplines. The program is designed to meet the Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications of NFPA 1001. Each fire department decides whether to train their fire fighters to Level I or Level II of the standard; upon completion, the fire fighter is issued a Certificate of Achievement with both IFSAC and ProBoard seals. Fire fighters will gain proficiency in fire department communications, fire ground operations, rescue operations, prevention, preparedness and maintenance. Available to Fire Service personnel only.
|First Responder||Paramedic Academy||Certificate||
Participants in the First Responder course will acquire the life-saving skills and knowledge to perform patient care to the public until the arrival of the ambulance. Examples include fire departments, police, safety and security personnel at sporting events, staff in recreation facilities, and staff in special care facilities to name a few. For First Responder Provider training students must be 18 years of age.
|Graduate Certificate in Complex Trauma & Child Sexual Abuse Intervention||Centre for Counselling & Community Safety||Graduate Certificate||
The Graduate Certificate in Complex Trauma & Child Sexual Abuse Intervention values theoretical, experiential and applied learning that is learner-centered and informed by current research and practice. The program takes an integrative approach to the assessment and treatment of complex trauma and child sexual abuse, drawing on the most current clinical and evidence-based material on effective complex trauma intervention, as well as the most recent research on attachment, neurobiology, memory and dissociation.

The Graduate Certificate in Intelligence Analysis is a 15 credit program (five 3-credit courses delivered online) which will provide advanced theoretical and practical framework for the study of intelligence and its application in a wide variety of contexts. The program is designed to provide specialized theoretical foundation and applied skills to function successfully as an analyst. This is accomplished through a rigorous curriculum that includes a core of three courses, which exposes students to the fundamental and advanced concepts and analytic techniques.

The Investigation & Enforcement Skills Certificate program is open to the general public, and is designed for those who are seeking employment in the field of investigation; individuals who are currently or plan to be involved in monitoring for compliance; those who conduct inspections, investigations, or enforcement related duties; or individuals who are currently employed and wish to expand their investigation and enforcement skill-set. The focus and goal of each course is to provide practical, hands-on training that will enable participants to successfully conduct a wide variety of simple and complex investigations.
|Law Enforcement Studies Diploma (LESD)||Justice & Public Safety Division||Diploma||
The Law Enforcement Studies Diploma program is aimed at providing you with the theoretical background, applied skills and specialized knowledge required to become a superior candidate in a recruiting process, and to increase your chances of success at the entry-level employment stage in a range of investigation and law enforcement occupations. The two-year LESD program consists of 60 credits with 840 hours of course work in law enforcement studies and liberal studies.

|Police Studies Certificate||Police Academy||Certificate||
Policing is a demanding and challenging job. Police officers perform service based on preserving the peace, protection of life and property, preventing crime, apprehending offenders, and enforcing the laws. The Police Academy trains recruits who have applied and been selected by individual Municipal Police Departments. This program is not open to the public.
