The Investigation & Enforcement Skills Certificate program is open to the general public, and is designed for those who are seeking employment in the field of investigation; individuals who are currently or plan to be involved in monitoring for compliance; those who conduct inspections, investigations, or enforcement related duties; or individuals who are currently employed and wish to expand their investigation and enforcement skill-set. The focus and goal of each course is to provide practical, hands-on training that will enable participants to successfully conduct a wide variety of simple and complex investigations.
|Law Enforcement Studies Diploma (LESD)||Justice & Public Safety Division||Diploma||
The Law Enforcement Studies Diploma program is aimed at providing you with the theoretical background, applied skills and specialized knowledge required to become a superior candidate in a recruiting process, and to increase your chances of success at the entry-level employment stage in a range of investigation and law enforcement occupations. The two-year LESD program consists of 60 credits with 840 hours of course work in law enforcement studies and liberal studies.

Policing is a demanding and challenging job. Police officers perform service based on preserving the peace, protection of life and property, preventing crime, apprehending offenders, and enforcing the laws. The Police Academy trains recruits who have applied and been selected by individual Municipal Police Departments. This program is not open to the public.
|Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) Certificate||Paramedic Academy||Certificate||
The Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) program equips you with a solid foundation for employment opportunities as a paramedic in a variety of paramedical environments. Benefit from the skill sets and hands-on experience of instructors, preceptors and clinicians, professionals such as practicing paramedics, registered nurses, emergency room attendants, and health science educators, who understand both the rewards and meaningfulness of their work. Exceeds the National Occupational Competency Profile for Primary Care Paramedics developed by the Paramedic Association of Canada, and is accredited by Accreditation Canada.
|Sheriff Recruit Training||Sheriff Academy||Certificate||
Sheriff Recruit Training (SRT) is a eleven-week, mandatory training program provided at no charge to candidates who are selected as Sheriff Recruits.Recruits are employees of the Court Services Branch of the Ministry of Attorney General and receive a training wage while completing the SRT. Individuals attending from outside the Lower Mainland are eligible for travel and accommodation costs.
|Substance Use Certificate||Centre for Counselling & Community Safety||Certificate||
The Substance Use Certificate is a 20-day (10 credit) program. Courses in this area are grounded in a harm-reduction approach. Sessions are led by experienced professionals with a focus on understanding substance use within a bio-psycho-social-spiritual framework; the application of current research and knowledge about interventions; and the exploration of social justice issues such as race, class, gender, poverty, and violence.
|TaxiHost Pro||Pacific Traffic Education Centre||Certificate||
TaxiHost Pro certifies taxi drivers, to help encourage tourism and ensure public safety. TaxiHost Pro certification is required for anyone wanting to drive a Taxi in Metro Vancouver, Abbotsford, or Chilliwack. This program may be required for other professions requiring a Chauffeurs Permit. The TaxiHost Pro program consists of three required courses, which are delivered face-to-face at the New Westminster campus.
