The Blackbird Security Indigenous Bursary provides support for Indigenous students in financial need planning to enroll in the online delivery of Basic Security Training (BST) at the Justice Institute of British Columbia. The bursary was established in 2021 by Blackbird Security.
Value
Up to 7 bursaries will be available annually to cover the cost of the Basic Security Training (BST) course and assessment (SCRT-1650 and SCRT-1655).
Criteria
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or have refugee status;
- Open to Indigenous students planning to enrol in the online delivery of Basic Security Training (BST) at JIBC; and
- Demonstrated financial need not met by other available sources of funding including student loans, grants, sponsorship, work income, etc.
Deadline
Annually there are two application deadlines:
- May 30
- September 30
