Course Details

Integrates risk and change management concepts with a systems thinking approach to proactive and reactive problem solving. Root cause analysis uses a systematic approach to identify what happened, why it happened, and what can be done to reduce the likelihood of a recurrence. It focuses on correcting and eliminating root causes of problems or events, rather than on simply treating the symptoms of a problem. Examine a variety of tools and processes used in root cause analysis and determine the most appropriate for issue clarification and definition, cause and effect analysis, and problem resolution. Includes a segment on documenting and communicating problem-solving efforts. (Formerly EMS420)
