Course Details

When youth commit serious violent offence, society demands more severe sanctions against those youth. The YCJA includes special provisions directed at youth who are serious, violent offenders, or those youth who commit the most serious offences of murder, manslaughter, attempted murder or aggravated sexual assault. In this course, we will explore in detail the legislative and policy requirements for youth charged with serious violent offences. This course is only available to Ministry of Children and Family Development employees, as identified in their Youth Probation Training Plan.
