Course Details

This course introduces new Child Welfare Practitioners to the Child Protection practice cycle (from intake to file closure) and the tools used throughout: Core Practice Accountabilities, Structured Decision-Making tools, reflective practice, critical thinking, working with children, youth and families in a strength-based and trauma-informed way, communication, and documentation. Learners will have several opportunities throughout the course to practice and apply their newly developed skills. This course is facilitated through a combination of lectures, resource reviews, videos, activities, role plays, and exercises.
