This presentation is a collaboration between Resident Elder Phillip Gladue, Métis Nation, and JIBC President & CEO, Dr. Michel Tarko, Métis Nation, and will be facilitated by Jason La Rochelle, Haida Nation, Director of the Office of Indigenization. This one-hour presentation creates space for Elder Phillip Gladue and Dr. Tarko to share their perspectives about mental wellness.

GUIDED MEDITATION 12:00pm-12:30pm

Please join on January 28th from 12:00pm -12:30pm in relaxation and guided meditation led by JIBC staff Susan Forest. 

Susan Forest has 20 years study and practice of energy healing and meditation through Training in Power: A Spiritual Journey of Service (now named) Training in Power Academy. 

15 years’ + experience as program manager in the Centre of Counselling and Community Safety at the JIBC and 10 years + experience teaching energy healing classes and meditation including offering guided meditation sessions to JIBC staff.

MANAGING YOUR MENTAL FITNESS IN A COVID-19 WORLD 02:00pm-03:00pm

With all the change and uncertainty that has come with COVID-19, the line between work and home has become more blurred than ever. On top of regular stressors, changes in work routine and the migration to online environments are just a few things that are causing individuals increased stress and anxiety. This highly interactive presentation focuses on stress, worry and anxiety in the context of COVID-19 and how that may bring challenges to achieving or maintaining a healthy work/life balance.
