Dr. Tanya Henderson

Dr. Tanya Henderson joined JIBC in 2020 as the Program Director of Research Development in the Centre for Research, Innovation & Scholarship and was appointed Interim Director, Research in 2024. She has a versatile academic career, combining classical archaeological scholarship, administrative leadership, and research development. In her role as Program Director, Dr. Henderson played a crucial role in facilitating, coordinating, and enhancing research activities within JIBC by identifying funding opportunities, supporting proposal development, and fostering collaborations to advance research.

Prior to JIBC, Dr. Henderson was a classical archaeologist and worked on multiple sites in Italy, including leading her own archaeological field school. She transitioned from academic scholarship to research development in 2018 and was the Communications & Research Administration Coordinator for the Aurora Research Institute before joining JIBC.

Dr. Henderson holds a doctorate in Classical Archaeology from the University of Alberta, a Knowledge Translation Professional Certificate from the University of Toronto, and a Research Administration Certificate from Mohawk College.
