
Michelle Cameron is a practicing lawyer, workplace investigator and mediator, with specialized expertise in post-secondary settings.
She is currently the Associate Director of Investigations with the University of British Columbia’s Investigations Office, which handles allegations of sexual misconduct, discrimination, retaliation, bullying and harassment for UBC.
Prior to this, Ms. Cameron articled and worked as an associate for a law firm that specializes in neutral workplace investigations, workplace assessments, and mediations. She served as a criminal intelligence analyst for the RCMP and as a senior investigator at the federal Civilian Review Complaints Commission investigating public allegations of RCMP misconduct.
Ms. Cameron holds bachelor of arts, bachelor of social work, master of social work, and juris doctor degrees from UBC, as well as a mediation/third-party intervention certificate from the Justice Institute of British Columba.
She is Dakelh, Frog Clan, and a registered member of Ts’il Kaz Koh First Nation in Burns Lake, B.C. Active in her First Nation community, she sits on its Electoral Code Reform Committee. In 2017, she received the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medal for her RCMP civilian member service.
