BLAW-1000 is delivered in an online format. The course delivery will be 6 weeks of self-paced online learning, followed by a 1 week break, followed by 3 days of full-time virtual learning in Blackboard Collaborate.
NOTE: BLAW-1000 must be successfully completed and graded to register in BLAW-1005 as it is a required pre-requisite.
BLAW-1005 is delivered in a hybrid format. The course delivery will be 6 weeks of self-paced online learning, followed by a 1 week break, followed by 3 days of full-time learning at the Justice Institute of British Columbia, New Westminster campus.

Course Strengths
The courses are designed to develop the skills and knowledge required to work within British Columbia's bylaw enforcement field.
They have been developed in consultation with experts in bylaw enforcement and reflect current practice and trends in the profession, uses practitioner-led training, and meets the needs of BC's many diverse municipalities while providing provincially-recognized training qualifications.

What You Need to Graduate
- Attend all training in full (i.e. online and in-person).
- Complete all learning requirements, including assignments, discussions, journals and quizzes.
- Achieve a minimum overall grade of 70%.
COURSE Format
BLAW-1000 is offered 100% online, with six weeks of self-paced online learning, followed by a one week break, followed by three days of full-time virtual learning in Blackboard Collaborate.
BLAW-1005 is offered in a hybrid blend, with six weeks of self-paced online learning followed by a one week break, followed by three days of face-to-face learning at the JIBC New Westminster campus.
Weeks one to six (online) for both BLAW-1000 and BLAW-1005 includes approximately 14 hours per week of self-paced reading, quizzes, discussions and assignments. There are no lectures delivered online.
