As workplaces and communities respond to changing workforce, leadership and operational needs, JIBC is strengthening how it brings its expertise in applied education, public safety and community service directly to employers, governments, agencies and community partners.
Through Community and Workplace Training, JIBC works with partners to design and deliver practical learning that addresses real workplace challenges, builds workforce capability and supports safer, more resilient communities.

Learning designed around real needs
Every workplace and community is different. Community and Workplace Training works alongside employers, agencies and community partners to develop learning that fits the way people work and addresses the challenges they are facing.
Training can be customized or developed to meet specific organizational needs and delivered on-site, online or in blended formats. Flexible scheduling can also help accommodate operational demands and shift-based teams, minimizing disruption to day-to-day work.
Bringing teams together for learning can also create a shared understanding, strengthen collaboration and help employees apply new knowledge and skills more consistently.
For the City of Chilliwack, a long-standing partnership with JIBC has supported leadership development and conflict resolution training through the Progressive Institute of Education for Chilliwack Employees' Success (PIECES) program.

Practical learning grounded in experience
For more than 50 years, JIBC has delivered applied public safety education informed by the realities of the professions and communities it serves.
Community and Workplace Training draws on that experience, bringing together instructors with current professional expertise, evidence-informed curriculum and hands-on learning. Participants build knowledge, skills, and confidence they can apply directly in their work.
JIBC currently offers learning across counselling, conflict resolution, emergency management, fire and safety, leadership, and other justice, public safety and health service disciplines. Community and Workplace Training connects partners with the right people and programs from across JIBC to address current priorities and respond to emerging workplace and community needs.
