Enrollments for the Associate Certificate in Complex Trauma are suspended, with eventual program termination in 2028. The program will still run for one more year in 2027 in a teach-out delivery. This decision has been made largely based on the restrictive nature of the current program (cohort-based, in-person). The curriculum is clearly relevant, current, and in demand. We are investigating ways to maintain the curriculum for use in future courses/programs that better align to how student hopes to attain their ongoing professional development.
For those wanting the Associate Certificate but who are not currently in the program
You can still register for all the courses in the program. You can choose a la carte (respecting pre-requisites); alternatively, if you complete all the courses within the teach-out time frame, by December 31, 2027, you can still receive the Associate Certificate in Complex Trauma. While we are no longer accepting applications into the program, if you complete all the courses by the end of 2027 please let us know and we can evaluate your record to see if you are eligible to graduate. When you register for your first course, you will be asked to send a brief e-mail outlining your education and/or experience related to counselling/complex trauma support work to ensure you have the prerequisite knowledge to be suitable for the course.
For those currently admitted in the Associate Certificate in Complex Trauma
You are still in the complex trauma program and can still receive the Associate Certificate in Complex Trauma if you complete all program requirements by December 31, 2027. You are not automatically registered in program courses. We recommend registering for courses early to ensure your seat. All courses in the program will be scheduled starting in January 2027. Registration for the courses will open by Fall 2026, for the January 2027 start.
