The Rix Family Foundation Entrance Award for part-time students, established in 2023, is funded by The Rix Family Foundation Endowment held by The JIBC Foundation, which provides financial support for JIBC students through awards. This is a merit-based award to support students who demonstrate academic excellence and have goals to become leaders in public safety careers.
Value
Two awards available annually of $2,000 per year for a maximum of two years.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the part-time Entrance Award students must:
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee status.
- Be entering an eligible part-time degree or diploma program of 60 credits or more.
- Be entering JIBC as a part-time student.
- Provide a personal statement on how JIBC courses will contribute toward your goal of a career in public safety (maximum 250 words).
- Demonstrate academic excellence as per the annual GPA; and
- Continue as a part‐time student.
