Course Details

This course provides an overview of the role of the Child Welfare Practitioner in engaging in investigative interviewing with children, youth, and parents. Investigative interviewing places children and youth at the center of a process that involves close collaboration with their families and communities, workers from various program areas and colleagues within MCFD, and ICFS Agencies. Learners will follow a practice example of a youth and the youth's family as they navigate the interview process as part of the comprehensive assessment process. Application of various legislation, policies, practice guidelines, theoretical knowledge and other resources will be required for this training utilizing a blended model that includes a self learning component.
